The Sixth time was the charm! After five unsuccessful attempts, the New York Liberty have finally won their first WNBA Championship. It took an exciting Game 5 Overtime win over the Minnesota Lynx to bring the Liberty their first WNBA chip.
Led by Sabrina Ionescu, Breanna Stewart, Jonquel Jones, and 2024 WNBA All-Rookie Team member Leonie Fiebich, this Liberty team is bringing back the excitement of the early days, back in the late 1990s/early 2000s when they made it to the Finals in four of the league’s first six years.
